Stormwater Pond Pedestrian Bridge Removal
The Association has received from the City of Edmonton an update regarding the three pedestrian bridges (B344, B345, and B346) crossing the stormwater management pond in the Hodgson/Whitemud Ridge Neighbourhood. As these structures have reached the end of their safe service life, the City of Edmonton is preparing for their demolition and removal.
Project Overview
The three pedestrian bridges (B344, B345, and B346) crossing the stormwater management pond in the Hodgson/Whitemud Ridge Neighbourhood were permanently closed in June 2024 following a routine inspection. Originally built by developers, the structures do not meet current City of Edmonton standards. Significant foundation movement has led to irreversible structural damage and tilted decking, creating serious safety risks and tripping hazards.
What to Expect
Removals are scheduled to occur between February and April 2026, depending on weather conditions.
To ensure the area remains functional, the trail ends will be realigned to connect directly with the existing storm pond loop.
Following the removal, the affected areas will be revegetated and naturalized to blend into the surrounding environment.
The primary trail around the stormwater pond will remain open during this work.
Reason for Removal
Given the extent of the structural failure and the current budget constraints, the City has determined that removal and naturalization is the most viable path forward to ensure public safety.
More details could be found in the Construction Bulletin provided by the City.

Notice to All Whitemud Ridge Homeowners Association Members
The Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Whitemud Ridge Homeowners Association will be held on Tuesday, November 18, 2025 at 6:30 PM, at the Whitemud Creek Community Centre.
You should have already received a formal notice by mail. Please note that this is an in-person meeting only, as required by our current bylaws.
A Special Resolution to amend the bylaws will be presented at this meeting. The proposed amendments include a provision to allow virtual meetings in the future, among other updates. For a detailed list of changes, please review the AGM package sent to all members.
We understand that several members have requested the option of a virtual AGM. If you feel strongly about this matter but are unable to attend in person, you may:
-
Assign your proxy to someone attending on your behalf, or
-
Assign your proxy to one of the Association’s officers.
A blank Proxy form is attached with the AGM package for your convenience. Please complete and sign it if you wish to designate a proxy. Signing a proxy will help us pass the Special Resolution to amend the current bylaws, which in turn will enable us to hold virtual meetings in the future.

We look forward to seeing all members at the AGM.
